Nutrition Secure Indy Launches to Support West Side Families

WRTV reports on the launch of Nutrition Secure Indy, a year-long pilot providing 250 Indianapolis families with weekly fresh produce and protein alongside nutrition, cooking, financial planning, gardening, and enrollment resources.

Nutrition Secure Indy is continuing its year-long pilot with 250 participating families in Indianapolis.

Throughout the program, families receive supplemental grocery boxes while researchers and coalition partners work to better understand how consistent access to nutritious food may relate to everyday habits and broader measures of wellbeing.

The pilot brings together organizations with expertise across food access, agriculture, healthcare, research, education, and community engagement.

Alongside grocery distribution, participating families also have access to practical resources designed to support meal planning, cooking, and participation throughout the program.

Research connected to the pilot remains in progress. Verified findings will be shared as they become available.

As the year continues, Nutrition Secure Indy will document program milestones, family experiences, coalition activity, and lessons that can help inform the future of the initiative.
